Philipp and Harald Gottschling studied design and engineering together and set out to revolutionise the world of eyewear. At a time when Berlin was buzzing with creativity, the two friends launched their first collection under the name Mykita. Presented at various competitions, it was an instant success. For over 10 years, we have been stocking sunglasses, prescription glasses and children’s glasses from the Mykita brand. These high-quality glasses, designed and manufactured in Berlin, combine a minimalist design with fashion-forward style and extreme lightness.
At the cutting edge of technology, Mykita was the first brand to develop glasses that are 100 per cent 3D-printed. At a time when 3D printing was used solely to produce models and prototypes that were not intended to last, Mykita succeeded in designing durable, reliable nylon glasses that can be adjusted by an optician. Leading figures in the fashion world, such as the Brazilian designer Bernard Willhelm and Maison Martin Margiela, have collaborated and brought their own distinctive style to designs featuring bold shapes and vibrant colours. Thanks to our partnership with the renowned German optics manufacturer Carl Zeiss Vision, all our sunglasses for adults and children feature exceptionally clear and protective lenses.
