Matsuda

Every piece, just like the costumes, is a work of art, and it’s all in the details

MATSUDA

History

After graduating from Bunka, Japan’s most renowned fashion design school, Mitsuhiro set off for Paris with his classmate, Kenzo Takada. The two friends honed their craft for several years, but the young Japanese designer returned to the Japanese capital and opened his eponymous bespoke tailoring workshop. The structured, tailored silhouettes appealed to celebrities, notably Prince, who would henceforth wear nothing but Matsuda. Mitsuhiro’s other great success is his collection of high-end eyewear.

Indeed, when it comes to prescription glasses and sunglasses, each component is laser-engraved with inlays of acetate, sterling silver or solid gold for the most exquisite pieces. Owning a Matsuda means being part of a discreet and exclusive circle of discerning collectors.

Simple, sophisticated and contemporary, this frame opens up the eyes whilst lending an undeniable elegance. Matsuda is, and always will be, Matsuda,
