Face a Face

Whenever I come across a Face à Face frame, I think of the Modulor—that metric system invented in 1944 by Le Corbusier, which (re)places the human being in their natural environment and ensures a radiant sense of well-being between the body and living space.

Face to Face: When Two Talented Designers Challenge the Conventions of the Eyewear Industry
The origins of Face à Face are a story of encounters, as is often the case in the business world. A woman and a man, Nadine Roth and Pascal Jaulent, joined forces for the better and driven by a desire to challenge preconceived notions, explore new creative horizons, and carve out their place in the sun. Drawing on their parallel professional journeys, they were able to combine their high standards, their curiosity, and their ability to challenge themselves and move forward both within established frameworks and off the beaten path. This duo, whose talents complement each other, has created a brand that is authentic and true to its core values—values that have been built up over time, guided by a thoughtful philosophy: eye makeup is too serious a matter to be entrusted to design charlatans. Here, the style emerges according to the same immutable principle of a meticulous architect: respecting proportions without constraining the lines, while allowing the volumes to unfold freely. Here, the branch motifs are refreshing touches, much like the intricate legwork in the Bocca collection.

This is certainly true of Face à Face eyewear, a stunning accessory that enhances one’s visual appeal. But Face à Face’s designs should not be reduced to a mere exercise in geometry—far from it. One of their distinctive features lies in the unique color palettes that dance across the acetate and metal. A true makeup artist's palette where combinations are bold, where vibrant colors bring out the deep tones, pastels complement the bright ones, and warm shades harmonize with the cool ones… Plum, kiss red, lemon yellow, lilac, melon, aquamarine, absinthe, caramel, flannel gray—each shade underscores the stylistic signature of the Face à Face eyewear designer, whose elegance draws inspiration from Parisian identity and the history of eyewear, while also reflecting the current aesthetic of contemporary design. Wearing a Face à Face frame is like wearing a Coco Chanel suit—it’s all in the details! Face à Face is the modern embodiment of eyewear that has made history!
